book #3, wedding book week

OK, today you get a totally different style of wedding book.

Think hip/edgy/Brooklyn. That’s the design direction I received for J+J’s wedding book. I think you’ll agree it has a great modern feel to it.

The best part about this book (you are all about to be very jealous) is that it was a SURPRISE GIFT from the brother-in-law (who took all the photos himself!) to the bride and groom. Can you imagine? A meaningful, personal wedding book they didn’t have to lift a finger to put together. I would be blown away. And from what I have learned, this adored couple deserves to be blown away. The things people wrote about them were incredible….but I’m getting ahead of myself.

For the cover I used a type of black paper that has a protective coating and stamps beautifully. We did black on black and I love it.

For the endsheets I used a photo from the ceremony – the moment right after their vows as they hugged each other. The wedding took place in a restaurant with a beautiful mural that had great red color, so I used red throughout the book.

The book begins with images from the rehearsal dinner.

I love this shot of Central Park – the view from the hotel room the morning of the wedding.

Here is an example of the “red pages” where we used the personal notes people wrote at the wedding about the couple. People wrote the most heartfelt, sincere, amazing things. And we included each comment on these striking red pages interspersed throughout the book.

And finally, some shots from the ceremony and reception.

A truly beautiful celebration.

I love how different and sort of nontraditional the book is for a “wedding book.” The size especially. What a stunning book Kim!
